Vatican City, a tiny nation
Vatican City is a tiny country with a small population. It is the smallest sovereign state and it is surrounded by Rome, Italy.

Vatican City has many impressive paintings, sculptures and historic artifacts at the Vatican museum. It is also home to St Peter's Basilica and the Sistine Chapel. The Pieta of Michelangelo is a beautiful sculpture displayed inside the Basilica.

We wanted to see it all, therefore we took a flight from Paris, France to Rome, Italy and walked a few kilometers to Vatican City. The perimeter of Vatican City is full of columns and in the middle of Saint Peter's Square there is an Egyptian obelisk and renaissance art. We walked through the columns and saw how beautiful the shape of the columns were. We saw the Egyptian obelisk and went inside the Vaticans museums.

The Vatican City Dome of St Peter's Basilica was sculpted by Michelangelo as well as most of the Sistine Chapel, you could go up the dome and see the Vatican City landscape and Rome. The Sistine Chapel is a chapel in the Apostoic Palace, where the pope lives. The Sistine Chapel was decorated by Michelangelo and a stanza de Raphael by Raphael. Many famous painters also have their frescos displayed in the Sistine Chapel and throughout the museum, painters like Sandro Botticelli and many more. Michelangelo painted the Sistine Chapel even though he was a sculptor and he even did it laying down, it is a pretty amazing work of art. I am glad we saw the Sistine Chapel and a lot of great works of art.

Vatican City might have been a short journey hence how small the county is but I would go back in a heartbeat. It was a very monumental experience for me and taught me a lot.
